Program Goal

To produce graduates who are critical thinkers equipped with knowledge in economic theory and the skills in undertaking economic analysis; and prepared to embark on careers in the academe, research institution, government, and the private sector.

Program Outcomes

At the end of the four-year program, the BS in Economics graduate:

Knowledge

• Expresses understanding of concepts, theories, and principles in Economics.
• Shows ability to utilize knowledge from various disciplines to address Economic issues.
• Applies appropriate research methodologies in Economics to address issues particularly in fisheries and coastal and aquatic resources.

Skills and Behavior

• Demonstrates critical thinking skills in analyzing economic phenomena.
• Adapts skills and knowledge to perform in constantly changing situations.
• Demonstrates creativity, innovativeness, and skills of being a leader and team player.
• Communicates clearly and confidently, listens and negotiates effectively with others.
